When people think about summer, the word “neutral” is usually not on their minds. As much as I love wearing pastel colors during the warmer seasons, no summer wardrobe is complete without neutral pieces. Sometimes wearing neutral can be boring so today I am sharing 4 tips on how to wear summer neutrals without getting bored.

1. ADD TEXTURE

Wearing texture is a great way to spice up your neutral pieces without adding color. I love having different textured pieces in my wardrobe. I enjoy wearing linen, rib, silk, satin, and cotton. Mixing and matching these pieces gives you an elevated look and makes a boring white outfit more fun and playful.

2. WEAR BOLD YET CLASSY JEWELRY

Jewelry is a great way to elevate your neutrals without adding color. I personally like wearing gold jewelry that is bold yet minimalistic, but you can wear any jewelry that represents your style and personality. I’ve been loving BldxMonique jewelry because they are hypoallergenic and water-resistant which means I can wash my hands, sweat, and even swim with their pieces. 3. ACCESSORIES

Accessories are what make any outfit stand out. Adding a nice purse, some cute heels, and a classic hat is a great way to elevate your boring neutrals. I personally love this neutral bag from H&M. I talked about the black version of this bag in my “What I wore on Vacation” post. I love that this bag has texture and is spacious. Adding accessories like this always makes your outfit pop. Amazon also has a lot of really nice bags with different prints and textures that can help elevate a neutral outfit.

4. PURCHASE QUALITY NEUTRAL PIECES THAT YOU LOVE

Oftentimes people get bored with wearing neutral pieces because they don’t have items that they not only love but are of great quality. If you have been following me for a while then you know I am big on quality and cost per wear value. There are a lot of clothing items that are cheap but the quality is horrible and because the quality is so bad you won’t wear the item often. This means that your cost per wear value is down.

It is so important that you invest in quality pieces that can last through the season and years. It is also important that you learn to take care of your clothing properly (will talk more about this in a future blog post). I like buying my basic pieces from Zara and H&M. These pieces are not too expensive, but the quality is great. Not to mention, I love wearing their items.

I hope you learned some new ways to elevate your summer neutrals. Have a blessed day family!
