Having basics in your closet is crucial to building a versatile wardrobe. I know we all love color, prints, and patterns, but if you do not have basic clothing items to style your bold pieces with, it is pointless. So today I am sharing 5 wardrobe basics that deserve a spot in your closet now.

1.OVERSIZED WHITE BUTTON UP

Oversized white button-ups are quickly becoming a staple in my wardrobe. I love how effortless, chic, and versatile these tops are. You can wear them with a bathing suit on the beach, with some shorts at a BBQ, or with a beautiful silk dress at dinner. My favorite oversized button-up is this white one from H&M.

2. BLAZERS

I talk so much about blazers on this blog that if you don’t have one by now, I don’t know what is going on lol. Blazers are not only classy, but they instantly elevate an otherwise boring look. They also add a form of structure to your outfit and make you look more put together. I personally love wearing oversized blazers with my outfits because they give an effortless look. I typically get my blazers from Zara or H&M because the quality is really good. Another great place to get blazers from is ASOS.

Quick Tip: If you are just starting to build your blazer collection, I recommend buying neutral-colored blazers like black, white, and brown. After that, you can branch out into other colors and prints.

3. THE CLASSIC TANKTOP

Tank tops are another year-round staple that I love. Currently, my favorite kind of tank top is the razer neck top and the wide strap tank top. I love these tops because they add sexiness to your outfit without showing too much. These tops are also great layering pieces in the fall and winter which makes them a key staple in any wardrobe.

4. BERMUDA SHORTS

I love wearing Bermuda shorts because they are comfortable and thick girl-friendly. Bermuda shorts are also more modest and elevate any boring outfit. I personally love wearing my Bermuda shorts with blazers and oversized shirts. In the fall and winter, I plan to wear them with boots and a nice thick trench coat.

5. WHITE SNEAKERS

By now, I’m sure you know I am a lover of white sneakers. I love them because they literally go with any and everything. I also love how comfortable and stylish these shoes are. Currently, my favorite white sneakers are the air force 1 from Nike, but you can get any white sneaker that fits your style.

One tip I would give if you plan to buy white sneakers is to get a leather (or pleather) pair of sneakers. I say this because white sneakers get dirty pretty easily, and it is super hard to clean a white cloth sneaker.
