Hello beautiful people! If you are reading this post you probably just received an email notification (shout-out to you for still rocking with me) or you saw me post this on my Instagram page and decided to be noisy lol. Either way, I know I’ve been MIA on my blog and Instagram for a while, so I wanted to catch you guys up before I proceed with my regularly scheduled content.

Before we continue, I just want to know how you are doing. How was your summer? How has 2022 been treating you? As for me, nothing much has really been going on. I know you’re expecting me to make this big announcement about why I left, but the truth is, I just didn’t have a desire to blog. I also didn’t have a desire to be on social media.

My desire to stay away from social media is actually nothing new. Before I started blogging, I was barely online. In college, I only hopped on Instagram over the weekends… if that. I’m a fairly private, keep to myself/ live in the moment kind of girl and social media is far from that (sometimes). I started posting more on Instagram when I started my blog in 2020. I felt pressure to produce content in order to grow my following and keep up with my peers. I love everything my influencer friends are doing, but for me, it’s just TOOO much.

Blogging is my personal outlet and something I genuinely enjoy doing. I like to share fashion content because it’s fun and helpful to my followers. The minute posting/sharing became a job, I was like NOOOOO… “It’s not giving what it was supposed to be giving.” Don’t get me wrong though, I love that this hobby allows me to meet new people and make money, but not at the expense of my joy… you feel me? I’m at the point where I post on Instagram (mainly my stories) when I want to, and this is so freeing for me. Influencing/ Blogging is HARD work and who knows maybe in a couple of years when my life is not as busy, I might become a full-time New York fashion week going designer/blogger (if the Lord permits). But for now, I’m just having fun, and if I make some mula along the way then PRAISE God! I know my content will reach those the Lord wants it to, and if it takes me a little longer to get there, THAT IS OKAY!

Secondly, I’ve been trying (Lord help me) to prioritize my family and close friends. Although you all haven’t seen me all summer, the crewwwww and I have been cruising okayyy! I love living in the moment and being surrounded by people who really love me and have my best interest at heart. I’m not saying you can’t do this while still being on social media, but sometimes our tendencies to want to post can cause us to lose out on the moment. Life is so precious so focusing on them is the most important thing to me right now. Not to mention, everyone is getting older, pursuing their dreams, moving, getting married, etc. The older we get, the more time we probably won’t have for each other, so making them… especially my family a priority is the most important thing to me.

Also, Instagram is really weird right now. You don’t see the people you follow anymore, and I recently saw that they want you to pay to have access to extra content and stuff. Not to mention, it’s no longer about the pictures. If you are not making video content then you’re out! In other words…”The pressure is getting worserrrrrrr” man.

Furthermore, I’ve been doing a little bit of local traveling. I recently got back from the tri-state area with my sister and friends. I went to NY, CT, and MA in 1 week, and it was AMAZING!! I’ve realized that I really enjoy local traveling and by God’s grace, I plan to do more in new states/cities in the future. I’ve also been working hard to achieve some personal goals like being a good steward over my finances. I can not wait to share with you, in a future post, about what God has taught me about financial stewardship.

Lastly, my hiatus from blogging and social media was also due to the fact that I am not a summer girl when it comes to fashion. I just don’t pop in the summer as I do in fall/winter, so I naturally lost interest in creating fashion posts. But, lucky for you I am back, and I’m super excited about creating fall/winter posts and continuing to share my journey with Jesus Christ. It’s about to be LITTTTYYYYY! Anyways, let me know what you have been up to this year. I can’t believe we are almost in the fourth quarter ahhhh. I’ll talk to you in the next blog post 🙂
