Food from Houston’s

Now that places have opened back up in the U.S (please continue to social distance), I thought I would share with you the Top 8 Finest Restaurants in the Atlanta/metro Atlanta area (in my opinion). These restaurants are great for date nights, girls night, birthday dinners, or holiday celebrations.

Quick disclaimer: The pictures in this post were taken by me and all opinions are my own. Also, I do not have pictures of all the restaurants listed below because if I’m being honest, I like to be in the moment and often forget to take pictures of my food lol. Additionally, If you like post like this, please let me know as I LOVE TO EAT and do not mind doing a post about good brunch spots, lunch spots, or just going more in-depth about dinner spots in Atlanta. Now, here are the Top 8 Finest Restaurants in Atlanta.

1. Bahama Breeze

Just in case you didn’t know, I LOVE SEAFOOD!

The first time I ate at this restaurant was with some church friends about 4-5 years ago. I absolutely love the Caribbean/African vibe this restaurant gives. They have an outside seating area which is great during the spring/ summer season and a live band that performs at night.

My favorite meal, and what I usually get, is the coconut fried shrimp (I love me some fried shrimp chile). I also love their empanadas.

Bahama Breeze has 2 locations you can visit in Georgia. There is a location in Kennesaw and one in Duluth. Check it out if you are interested in having some bomb Caribbean seafood.

2. Houston’s

I went to Houston’s for the first time (since childhood) early last year and absolutely loved the vibes of this restaurant. The food is freshly prepared and the menu is very diverse. I might be a little biased, but I think they have the best salmon and coleslaw in town. I also hear that their steak and burgers are really good too. I’m currently eyeing their veggie burger, so I’ll let you know how I like that the next time I’m here (follow me on Instagram to stay up to date).

Additionally, the mood of this restaurant at night is very romantic and classy, which makes it a great dinner spot for date nights and intimate celebrations. Furthermore, I consider Houston’s a very fancy restaurant (and they do too), so make sure you are in your Sunday Best when dining here.

On the contrary, the food at Houston’s is more on the expensive side (if you are ordering from the House Specialties), BUT the pricey price tag definitely matches the quality and freshness of their food. This restaurant is a “must visit” if you are in the Atlanta area.

3. Canoe

Canoe is another expensive restaurant, but just like Houston’s, their food is definitely worth the price. This restaurant is great for brunch, lunch, and dinner dates. If you come here, you definitely have to try their crabcake appetizer; it’s literally the best in town.

The first time I came here was for my 23rd birthday. I had their salmon and grits and it was goodtttt…so good that I went home and recreated the same meal (I did a pretty good job if you ask me). Not to mention, the customer service is phenomenal and the location is breathless. It was one of the best birthday dinners I have ever had. Definitely check them out when you come to Atlanta.

4. Atlanta Fish Market

Located in the heart of Buckhead, the Atlanta Fish Market is the perfect spot for any seafood lover.

I came here for the first time two years ago with my family on Mother’s day. My mom, like me, loves seafood, so we knew this would be the perfect spot to celebrate her.

As expected, the food was great and the service was phenomenal ( I’m really big on customer service). Not to mention, the location is great for aesthetic walks before and after dinner. Buckhead has so many great site-seeing places, so I recommend carving out time to walk around the city and take pictures before your dinner reservation.

5. Copeland’s of New Orleans

Copeland’s of New Orleans is another one of my favorite restaurants. Their classic southern New Orleans flavor is perfect for anyone looking for good southern food with a Louisiana twist.

I personally love their seafood platter and their shrimp alfredo. I also hear that their classic filet and prime top sirloin is really good. This restaurant has 2 great locations in Cumberland and Kennesaw, so check it out if you are ever in the area.

7. Lure

Lure is another seafood restaurant that I absolutely love. It is located in midtown, which is great because there are so many activities around this area.

I like this restaurant because they have a very unique and trendy menu. For example, they have shark meat as an entree on their menu. I don’t know about you, but I don’t know too many restaurants that offer shark meat on their menu (it tastes like chicken by the way).

I also love the warm, modern, bungalow vibes of the restaurant; it’s literally PERFECT for the spring/summer months. If you couldn’t tell already, I’m all about the whole experience when it comes to anything I do, so the vibes and architecture of a restaurant matters a lot to me. Plus, the nicer the restaurant, the doper the pictures. You definitely have to check this place out this summer.

8. Pappasitos

I recently ate here with some friends and was surprised by how much I liked the food. I actually do not eat Mexican food (shocker right), so the fact that I liked it says a lot. This restaurant is very chill and also has an outside seating area which again, is nice for spring/summer link-ups.

The customer service is also great and the food is fresh. I ordered the fish tacos when I ate here, and my friends ordered ribs and regular tacos (they loved it). Additionally, one of my college friends/birthday twin works here, so if you are reading this, hey girl :). Anyways, if you like classic fresh Mexican food, check out this spot.
